Mark R. Trombetta, 77, of Medway, died in his home on Thursday, August 21 with his cat and constant companion Pepsi by his side.

Born in Bangor, Maine on May 12, 1948, he was married to his loving wife Laura Trombetta (Hamm) for 39 years.

After graduating Medway High School in 1966, Mark served in the United States Army from 1967-1972 and reached the rank of Sergeant. He served one tour in Vietnam, and received a National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal Bronze Star. Although he had a complex relationship with his service, he valued the help and community he found at his local VA.

A talented craftsman and artisan, he founded and owned Designer Finishing, a furniture repair and refinishing shop, before retiring, but continued to work as a tradesman until his death.

Mark was an avid cook, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than preparing delicious meals for his family and friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing board games with his wife, writing and playing music, and teaching his daughters a thing or two about home improvement. Never without a project of his own, no one has hung more crown molding (or took longer to do it) than Mark.

Besides his wife, Mark is survived by his children, Monica Trombetta and her husband Brett J. Taylor of Medway; Sadie Trombetta and her husband Jason Awerman of Granby; and Starla Trombetta and her fiancée Kerri Hammersly of Northampton.

He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, loving extended family, and treasured friends, as well as his brother John Trombert of Uxbridge and family, and preceded by his brother Peter Grillo.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life and memory at the home of his nephew Joseph Hamm at 48 Highland Street in Medway on Saturday, September 6 from 2 - 5 PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mark's memory to your local food bank or a community supper program near you.

Arrangements are under the care of the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway ginleyfuneralhomes.com

Michael and I were sad to hear about Marks passing. As not only Sadie and Jasons partners for our farm, but good friends, the Trombettas have always welcomed us like family.

Mark helped us with our property/ farm much over the years. From doing an overnight pig roast for our first harvest party, to building our farm stands and a few chicken coops. We will always feel his presence here, and cherish the memories made.

Rest Easy,

Molly Crookes & Michael Vilcans.
