Mark Allen Tschirhart, age 76 of Clinton passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at home with his family by his side. He was born June 19, 1947 in Pontiac, MI. On September 6, 1969 at the Macon United Methodist Church, he married Nancy Marie Thomas and they have shared 54 years together.
Mark was very proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Clinton American Legion Post #176. In 1962, Mark started working as a mechanic. He eventually went into business for himself and started Mark's Garage in Clinton which he ran for 42 years. He really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed playing guitar, woodworking, and he was an avid outdoorsman. The thing he enjoyed the most was watching his grandchildren compete in sporting events, working on classic cars and hot rods. Mark was a member of the Macon United Methodist Church, the Moose and the NRA.
Besides his wife, Nancy, Mark is survived by his sons, Mark (Stephanie) Tschirhart II of Clinton, MI and Keith (Kara) Tschirhart of Brooklyn, MI; siblings, Margo Moore of Brooklyn, MI, Mike Tschirhart of Tecumseh, MI, Marie (Ed) Holmes of Adrian, MI, and Leah Dooley of Lima, OH; four grandchildren, Brandon (Danielle) Tschirhart of Clinton, MI, Brett Tschirhart of Brooklyn, MI, Taylor Tschirhart of Brooklyn, MI and Ryan Tschirhart of Clinton, MI; three great granddaughters, Ariana, Anastasia and Athena all of Clinton, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Dooley and brother, Mac Hall.
Visitation for Mark will be Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be Monday, March 18, 2024 at 11am at Macon United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Vollmer officiating with visitation from 10am to 11am. Burial will follow in Macon Cemetery in Macon Twp. with military honors performed under the auspices of the Clinton American Legion #176. Memorial contributions may be made to Macon United Methodist Church.
