Markham Owen “Marty” Holland, 67, of Irmo, died Friday, November 28, 2025 at Prisma Health Parkridge.

Born on May 16, 1958 in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late Julian and Mary Frances Elizabeth Sullivan Holland. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and studied martial arts for many years. He was a fan of the University of South Carolina Lady Gamecocks. Marty loved music, especially songs by Blackberry Smoke and Travis Tritt. He loved laughing and joking with everyone. He was a constant clown.

He is survived by his wife Bridget Holland; daughters, Kimberly Owen (Pete) Holland of Pomaria, Meagan Elizabeth Holland of Prosperity, and Sheena Christine Holland of Prosperity; sons, Kyle Clester Holland of Prosperity, Travis McKinley (Bianca) Holland of Sandy Run, Wyatt Sullivan Holland of Irmo, and Cooper Ty Holland of Irmo; a sister, Penny (Glenn) Cooper of Columbia; a brother, Eddie Carl Holland; grandchildren, Kevin Michael Holland, Devin Mitchell Holland, D'Erica FranShea (Stephon) Slinger, Joseph Dante Meade, Deanna Elizabeth Meade, Maloree Brock Grimsley. Lyric Elise Grimsley, Elias Jude Elwood, Cameron Kelly Watson, Daylon Craddock, Meleena Aaliyah Gallman, Lexianna Melshay Gallman, and James Melvin “Junior” Gallman, Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Don Purdue.

He was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Lewis Holland and by a granddaughter, Amari James Grimsley.

Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wako Cotney. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38101.
