Marlene (Aitken)Borkowski, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2026 at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late Bernard Borkowski, mother of Cynthia (Harry) Thompson of Rostraver, Steven (Kathy) Borkowski of Summerfield NC, and Diane (Robert) Yingling of West Mifflin; grandmother to Bernie (Jennifer) and John Thompson, Stacie (Danny) Davis, Jennifer (Ken) Celian, Robert (Sara), Dylan (Nikki) and David Yingling and the late Jeff Celian; great-grandmother to Deacon, Riker and Ezra Yingling, Daniel and Sierra Davis and Jasmine (Ryan) Dawson; and great-great-grandmother to Aaralyn Dawson. Marlene was the daughter of the late David Kerr and Annette Vidal Aitken of Elizabeth, sister of the late David K. (Sharon) Aitken Jr. of Virginia, sister-in-law to Richard (Bonnie) Borkowski of McKeesport, great aunt to the late Rich Borkowski. She is aunt to many nieces and nephews and is survived by many friends, neighbors and coworkers.

Marlene was a valedictorian graduate of McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing and was a career recovery room nurse at McKeesport and Homestead Hospitals and Jefferson Regional Medical Center where she volunteered after retiring. She was a long time active member of the Brierly Heights Woman's Club, enjoyed playing monthly card games, playing the organ, was a member of the Miracle Ridge Baptist Chuch, worked in their nursery, crocheting, and always hummed a song.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday January 30 and 10-11 with a funeral service on Saturday, January 31 at 11 AM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. Interment will follow Saturday at noon at Jefferson Memorial Park.
