Marlene Darrh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Traub Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. - Central Square on Feb. 23, 2023.
Marlene A. "Mar", "Sir", (Darling) Darrh, 77, a
beloved mother, grandmother, and community
member, passed away peacefully at her home in
New Haven, New York on February 17, 2023, with
her family by her side.
Born in Redfield, NY, raised in Camden, NY, Marlene moved to West Monroe with her
late husband and love of her life, Ernie Darrh, where she lived for the majority of her life.
Marlene was a devoted mother to her three children, Julie (Dale) Rice, Lorie Darrh, and
Ed (Cheryl) Darrh, and a loving grandmother to Iris (Ryan) Russell and Andréa Darrh.
Marlene was an active member of her community, serving as a long-time Girl Scout
leader and member of the Hastings Fire Department Auxiliary and Oswego County
Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Marlene was employed at Green Acres Bowling Lanes
for many years. She was passionate about giving back to her community and helping
others, and her selfless dedication to these organizations made a significant impact on
the lives of those around her.
In her free time, Marlene enjoyed indulging in her hobbies, which included bowling,
camping, spending time with her family including her "fur" grandbabies, and hosting
game days/nights with her friends. She had a great love for wine and would often share
a glass or two (or more) with friends and family.
Marlene will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, generosity, and
unwavering love for her family and friends as well as her quick wit, endless sarcasm
and brut honesty. Her spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched
throughout her life.
Please join Marlene's family and friends at a celebration of life in her honor on Saturday,
February 25 at 1 pm at the Hastings Fire Department, 1994 US 11, Hastings, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hastings Fire
Department or Paulie's Super Siblings (www.pauliessupersiblings.com) in Marlene's
memory.
