Theodore LeClair Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Traub Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. - Central Square on Jan. 23, 2026.
Theodore L. LeClair passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Born July 6, 1936, to the late Louis J. LeClair and Mary Rose (Miner) LeClair.

Ted graduated from Ellenburg Central School in 1954. He then went on to join the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1956 until 1962, serving in the Korean War during the end of the conflict. Ted had various occupations throughout his lifetime. The most recent were working for the Central Square School District and Glennwood Golf Course.

Some of his enjoyments in life were golfing, bowling, hunting, traveling (especially up north to visit family), visiting the casino playing the "Heart Machine" and "American Original", going out to lunch (the potato soup at the casino and New England clam Chowder at the R-Diner were his favorites), and going out for ice-cream at Dad's Ice-cream in Chittenango.

In addition to his parents, Ted is predeceased by his sons David and Dale; grandchildren Rebekkah and Alexander; brothers, Johnny, Marshall, Joseph, and Victor; and his sister, Clara Trombley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years Anita I. LeClair; son, Daniel (Karen) LeClair; Dan's children; Frank (Brittany), Daniel Jr. (Crystal), Benjamin (Katie), Zacheriah (Jess), and Lucas; daughter, Denise (Gary) Corsette; Denise's children, Nolan (Tiffany) and Willow Jean; great-grandchildren; Makayla, Chloe, Matthew, Payton, Haley, William, Avery, Isabella, and John; step great-grandchildren, Leland, Jackson, and Henri Cook; brothers, Charlie (Gert) and Frank (Barbara); sister, Janet; Aunt Lillian; Uncle Tom; along with several nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Calling hours will take place at Victory Bible Church at 255 Hungry Lane, in Central Square, on Friday, January 30 from 3:00pm till 5:00pm, with a memorial service following immediately after.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to make a donation in Ted's memory to the Central Square Essentials for Success Inc. "The Backpack Program" (P.O. Box 159, Central Square, NY 13036) or to Victory Bible Church (255 Hungry Lane, Central Square, NY 13036).
