Marlene Duffey Obituary

Marlene R. Duffey, 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.
She was born on February 12, 1938 in Decatur, Indiana to the late William Edward and Milda (Scheumann) Bultemeyer.
Marlene was united in marriage to Richard Allen Duffey on April 20, 1963 at St. John Lutheran Church – Bingen. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2013.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church – Bingen.
Marlene was previously employed at Lincoln Life Insurance and retired from Goeglein's Catering.
She had a joy for children and this was evidenced by babysitting numerous children throughout her life. Marlene loved sewing and quilting with the Ladies Aid at the church. She loved talking about her large family along with the memories it brought. A social butterfly, she was allowed to spread her wings at Goeglein's where she enjoyed the opportunity to socialize with many.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Art) Norton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Richard Bultemeyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Rosie (Waldo) Bultemeier of Decatur, Indiana; brother, James (Cheryl) Bultemeyer of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Fritz (LouAnn) Bultemeyer of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Connie Hawkins of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Stan Bultemeyer of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Jerry Bultemeyer of Decatur, Indiana; two brothers-in-law, Paul Miller of Decatur, Indiana and Denny Stoppenhagen of Hoagland, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Bultemeyer of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Bonnie Bultemeyer of Decatur, Indiana; granddaughter, Nicole Norton (Fiancé Jesus Tovar) of Lake Mary, Florida; and numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by one son, Allen Duffey on January 12, 2013; three brothers, Steven Bultemeyer, Roland Bultemeyer and Edward Bultemeyer; two sisters, Eileen Miller and Kay Stoppenhagen.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen (11555 US-27 in Decatur) with Pastor Peter Brock officiating.
Friends and family will be received from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church - Bingen, Tanzania Mission; Wyneken Lutheran School or Worship Anew.
Arrangements are by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
