Marlene Rose Dutton
(Nee Riemer)
Age 87, of Brookfield, Wisconsin was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday May 29th, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Marlene was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin September 24th, 1934, daughter of Paul Riemer and Minerva (Fraenzl) Riemer. Marlene is survived by Tom Dutton, her loving husband of 60 years. Her beloved children, Steve Dutton, Patrick Dutton (Gina Huck) and Shannon (Guy) Jacobi, her grandchildren, Thomas Dutton (special friend Alex Bohn), Jacob (Abby) Dutton, Noah, Maddy, and Callie Jacobi, great-grandchildren, Finley, Owen, and Ellis Dutton. Further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Marlene graduated from Wauwatosa (Tosa) Highschool in 1952, she worked several jobs, but took most pride in her work at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in In-Patient treatment services.
Through the years Marlene enjoyed many activities from Tennis, Bowling, Guitar, Baking, all things Christmas but her favorite two activities were Bridge and Golf. Marlene was an avid lover of golf and played in the Wanaki women's golf league and served as their President for many years. Marlene shared her love of the sport, teaching her children and grandchildren to play and compete against her from early on. Bridge was one of her other loves and brought out her competitive spirit playing on many family, friend, and church leagues for decades.
She was an artist who never bragged about her talent, simply shared her work. She stayed humble, yet her work was extraordinary. Marlene has always had a love for nature, and animals, especially dogs, deer, and her birds. She shared the love of nature with her children and grandchildren, teaching them to appreciate the beauty of the world in all things big and small. A lover of the sun, all things around water, and the beach. Destin Florida will always hold a place in her heart as her favorite destination to dig her toes in the sand.
Marlene loved any reason to bring the people she loved together, especially family and friends. She would often be the first person to arrive for an event, with snacks and drinks to share, and usually, the last to leave. After the music and dancing had ended, she would carry the love of the evening home.
She will be remembered for being witty, sharp, active, and wanting to know the goings on of everyone she loved so deeply to the very end. Marlene loved big, smiled often, and laughed hard. She had an infectious personality, caring heart and a strong faith that will be carried on through her children and grandchildren. Marlene would thank you all for being here to celebrate her life and accomplishments. Until we meet again.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 10:00 am – 12:00pm at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, W314N7462 Hwy 83, Hartland followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm.
