David William Senderhauf
July 8, 1943 – January 17, 2026
David William Senderhauf was born on July 8, 1943, in
Waukesha, Wisconsin, and passed away on January 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 82 years old. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, hard work and the passions that defined his life.
David carried on the family tradition as a third-generation worker at Grede Foundry in
Milwaukee, WI. He was proud of his craft and family legacy the same as his father William H. Senderhauf and Grandfather William G. Senderhauf.
David had a lifelong love of cars and speed. Street racing was in his blood, and in 1967, he proudly purchased his Buick GS Grand Sport-one of his greatest joys. A talented and dedicated mechanic, he worked alongside his friend Marty Quinn on Marty's Funny Car "The Family Fortune," a chapter of his life he treasured deeply.
An outdoorsman at heart, David loved hunting pheasants, rabbits and especially cherished deer hunting at the cabin he helped build in
Park Falls, WI. That cabin stood as a testament to his craftsmanship and perseverance, built by hand with logs from the land alongside his brother-in-law Ervin and his nephews. It became a place filled with tradition, laughter and lifelong memories.
Above all else, David was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He never missed a moment that mattered-faithfully attending sporting events, school concerts, and plays. His presence was constant, his pride unmistakable, and his love unwavering.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores (nee Scherwinski) Senderhauf, parents William and Virginia Senderhauf. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his children, David (Barb) Senderhauf Jr. and Denise (Todd) Sheehan; his adoring grandchildren, Courtney (Andrew) Szigety, Jack Senderhauf, and Cameron Sheehan, and his cherished great-grandchildren, Inez Delores and Isla Drew Szigety. He is further survived by his fond siblings, Linda (the late Ken) Kalapp, Joe (Jean) Senderhauf., and his brothers/sisters in laws the late Ervin (Ruth) Scherwinski, Darrell (late Marian) Scherwinski, late Darlene (Bill) Schofield, late Lloyd (Reta) Scherwinski, and Al (Cindy) Scherwinski, along with other relatives and friends.
For the past five years, David had been patiently waiting to be reunited in Heaven with his beloved Delores. That reunion brings comfort to those who grieve him now, knowing they are together again, whole and at peace.
David will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and the quiet, steady way he showed his love. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the memories that will be carried forward for generations.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd. Brookfield from 12:30 PM until time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha.
