Marlene Marie Fransen

Marlene Marie Fransen, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date.

Marlene was born in Henryville Township, Minnesota, to Frank and Rose (Zetah) Senkyr. She attended country school and later worked at a grocery store in Olivia, Minnesota. In 1958, she was united in marriage to John Forcier. Together they were blessed with four children: Veronica, Kevin, Loren, and Gloria. Marlene embraced the life of a farm wife and devoted herself to her family. John preceded her in death in 1973.

Following John's passing, Marlene returned to Morton to be near her parents. A few years later, she married Donald Fransen, and together they welcomed a daughter, Marcia. During this time, Marlene worked as a waitress at several local restaurants, most notably Chumley's.

Marlene enjoyed keeping busy. She found great joy in cooking, baking, embroidering, gardening, and completing crossword puzzles. She had a special love for animals, especially dogs. Above all, Marlene cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Loren (Gina) Forcier of Florida, Gloria (James) Buzick of Owatonna, and Marcia (Steve) Davis of Owatonna; grandchildren, Corey Schmidt, Shawn Schmidt, Brianna (Jesus Alvarez) Brekke, Sydney (Brandon) Bolduan, Cameron Forcier, Riley Davis, and McKenzie Davis; great-grandchildren, Teagan Bolduan and Evan Bolduan, and a baby girl expected in April; sister-in-law, Georgia; and son-in-law, Bill Frohling.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Forcier and Donald Fransen; her children, Veronica Frohling and Kevin Forcier; and her parents.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
