Marlene S. Gentner, 82, of Ruth, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at her home, under hospice care, surrounded by her family.
Marlene was born on September 16, 1943 in Paris Township to the late Henry and Gertrude (Puvalowski) Wrubel. She married Bernard Gentner on August 24, 1963 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville.
Marlene was a 1962 graduate of Ubly High School. She and her husband Bernard farmed in Huron County. She was a sales person for Home Interiors for many years. Marlene was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville and a member and past secretary of the St. Mary's Rosary Sodality. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always sure to remember them on their birthdays. After retiring from farming, they spent twelve winters in Florida.
She is survived by her husband Bernard Gentner of Ruth, children: Rickey (Beth) Gentner of Holly, Kevin (Kathryn) Gentner of Oakland Township, Craig (Mary) Gentner of Minden City, Cheryl (Todd) Woodke of Bad Axe, Jill (Greg) Farris of Oxford, 10 grandchildren: Chelsie (Brian) Santos, Teri (Keagan) Lochrie, Katie Jo (Troy) Volmering, Heather (Damion) Irvine, Jennifer (David) Bond, Allison (Joseph) Morrison, Elizabeth Gentner, Lauren Farris, Jonathan Gentner, Alyssa Farris, step grandchildren: Lea Woodke, Dana Woodke, great grandchildren: Dylan Santos, Bently Santos, Brantley Lochrie, Jessa Lochrie, Boyd Lochrie, Wesley Volmering, Brody Volmering, Colt Volmering, Owen Irvine, Carter Irvine, step great grandchildren: Blayk Santos, Lennox Woodke, sisters: Elaine Sawielski, Marilyn Wendt, Joan (Jim) Heilig, brother: Myron (Glenda) Wrubel, Sisters-in-law: Delores Roggenbuck, Beatrice Booms, brother-in-law; Raymond (Christie) Gentner, sisters-in-law: Marie Gentner Helmriech, Sandra Gentner, and many nieces and nephews.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Gertrude Wrubel, great grandson: Austin Lochrie, brothers: Melvin (Ardis and Eleanor) Wrubel, Kenneth (Mary Ann) Wrubel, sister: Judy (Fred) Truetle, brothers-in-law: Ben Sawielski, Dave Wendt, James Gentner, Earl Booms, Clarence Terbrack, and Harry Roggenbuck.
Funeral Mass for Marlene for will be Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the St. Isidore Parish. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Visitation for Marlene will be Thursday, from 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday, will be at the church, beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am. A rosary service by the Rosary Sodality will take place Thursday, at 4 pm at the funeral home, and a time for sharing will take place at 7 pm, at the funeral home.
