Marlene Lillian Graversen of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born on August 22, 1931 at Vancouver Memorial hospital in Vancouver, WA, to Lawrence and Lillian Imdieke. Marlene graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland, Oregon in 1949.
Marlene had a zest for life and loved to travel, cherishing trips to the Oregon Coast, Florida, Hawaii and Palm Springs. A highlight of her international travels was a flight on the Concorde from Portland to London, England. She was an avid golfer and a member of Fairway Village golf club, where she resided for 34 years. She was a very talented artist and loved to paint. Marlene also enjoyed playing the card game of Hand and Foot. Her family remembers her fondly for her famous chili and breadsticks and chocolate whipped cream cake, which were staples at family dinners.
A woman of strong faith, Marlene attended church regularly and embraced her Christian Science upbringing.
Marlene was married to her loving husband, Curt Graversen, for 20 wonderful years. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, David Hubbell and Robert Lee Taylor. Marlene and Robert had three children: Larry Taylor (deceased), survived by his wife, Robin Taylor; Linda Brocker, married to Byron Brocker; and Steven Taylor, married to Cynthia Taylor. She was a proud grandmother to four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
Marlene is also preceded in death by her sister Joanne Coultard. She is survived by her sisters Mary Lou Huntzinger and Bonnie Gregory.
Marlene's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 1-4pm at Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver, WA.
