Marlene Margaret (Esler) Hutcheson, age 79, of Savage, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, August 24th, with her children at her side. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, at Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Chapel (9940 Bush Lake Rd., Bloomington) at 11AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment Dawn Valley Memorial Park. Marlene was born July 9, 1946 in Mora, Minnesota, the daughter of Lyle and Angeline (Kubat) Esler. Marlene was the oldest of 4 daughters and lived her young childhood in Mora, MN surrounded with both sides of her family and grandparents. When Marlene was age twelve the family move to the City and settled in Bloomington Minnesota. Marlene graduated from Lincoln High School and played the saxophone. She enjoyed her friends, attending concerts and dances. Marlene met her lifelong partner and husband Bob at a party in Minneapolis. They were married September 14, 1968. They began their adventure together with a honeymoon to California. Which turned into a 13-year stay, and where they were blessed with their first child, Cindy. They moved back to Minnesota where Rob was born. Marlene worked in finance and worked for many companies over the years such as; Control Data, Long Drugs, Seafirst Leasing, Cargill, Kraus Anderson. She met many longtime friends through her work. She enjoyed it so much that she retired at age 70. She also was a partner in their family business the Tree and Stump Co where she managed the operations. Marlene was a loving mother to her children and was often referred to by many as their 2nd mother. She was caring, loving and always willing to lend her ear, her hands and heart. Nothing made her beam like her grandchildren. She always thought of them, loved on them and filled them with sugar. They brought her joy. Marlene's survived by her daughter, Cindy (Brett) Petrusek, and their children, August and Ruby; son, Rob Hutcheson and his children, Charlie and Johannah. Sister, Shirley (Tom) Olson; siblings-in-law, Gail Manning, Nancy Schuh, Linda (Randy) Stroup, Roger (Emma) Hutcheson, Sharron (D'Aun) Reeves, Rick (Lusia) Hutcheson, Rory Hutcheson, Ron (Kim) Hutcheson, Tammy (James) Bice, and Candy Gandy; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; her sisters, Bonnie (Gary) Lecher and Diane Quinn; brothers-in-law; Rudy Hutcheson, Bob Manning, Marlin Schuh, and Michael Gandy; and niece D'Auna Reeves.
