Marlene Jehu Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jowdy Kane Funeral Home - Danbury on Jan. 24, 2025.
Marlene Jehu, 87, of Danbury, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Allan Jehu.
Marlene was born in New York City on September 23, 1937; a daughter of the late Philip and Anna (Marek) Hanna. After a short courtship with Allan, they married and raised their family in Danbury.
A longtime resident of Danbury, Marlene was a member of Saint Peter Church. Marlene was an avid reader. Always having 2 or 3 books going at a time. Bingo was one of her favorite things to do. She never missed a chance to play. We would have to schedule things around her Tuesday night bingo games. She would say, "can't on Tuesday, that's my bingo night."
Marlene loved to travel. She was always up for the next adventure. Whether it was a cruise, a flight or a weekend trip to RI, she could be packed and ready to go after she made her pit stop. She took many special trips with her grandchildren that they will always remember and cherish. Even at the end of her life, Marlene wanted her passport renewed, just in case.
Marlene is survived by her 4 children: Douglas Jehu and his wife, Rosa; Karen Prukalski and her husband, Tom, Kris DeFlumeri and Gregg Jehu. Marlene is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Matthew, Kate, Nicole, Sarah, Evan, Abigail, Adam and Max; as well as a great grandson, Christian, with whom she shares a birthday. She always said that was her best birthday gift. In addition, Marlene is survived by a brother, Philip G. Hanna Jr. and his wife, Candy; her nephew, Jeffrey Hanna; her niece, Amy Moore and her special cousin, Nancy Lees, as well as numerous other cousins.
Don't worry mom, we know, you're just resting your eyes. Until we meet again.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:30 AM in Saint Peter Church; 121 Main Street, Danbury. Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury. There will be no calling hours.
