It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Marlene Jinks, age 85, who went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Born on April 11, 1940, Marlene lived a life marked by faith, kindness, service, and devotion. She was married to the love of her life, Edward Jinks, Jr., for 64 years until his passing in 2023. Together they built a solid foundation of love, family, and faith that will continue to bless generations to come. She was the proud mother of seven children, and she cherished her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was always at the center of her heart, and her love extended far beyond her own household. Known for her generosity and hospitality, she opened her home to anyone in need, offering a meal, a listening ear, or simply a safe place to rest. For many years, Marlene worked as a secretary and bookkeeper, but her true life's work was caring for others and sharing the love of Christ. Her unwavering devotion to the Lord was evident in the way she lived-always kind, always prayerful, and always ready to encourage others with her faith. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, whether at church, around the dinner table, or in simple quiet moments of conversation. Her legacy is one of love, faith, and service. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Jinks, Jr. and is survived by their 7 sons and their wives, Edward, 3rd and Mary, Robert and Debby, Thomas and Ellen, Kenneth and Gina, Lawrence and Natalie, Timothy and Jennifer, and James and Nicolle. "Gram" is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Edward, 4th and Hannah Jinks, Beth and Mike Coletta, Kenneth and Loren Jinks, Kimberly and Ron Masi, Wes and Rachel Gossett, Ashley Murphy, Krista and Francis O'Rourke, Brooke Jinks, Thomas and Amelia Jinks, Kevin and Melissa Jinks, Michael, Nicholas, Joshua, Evan and Ethan Jinks. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Aerilyn, Ellie, Edward, 5th, Ryan, Michael, Andrew, Charlotte, Kenneth, Madelyn, Viviana, Noah, Elaine, Lillian, Lucille, Francis, Darby, Dawson, Sylvia, and Colton, and by her furry friend, Wanda. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Van Tassel Funeral Home in Bloomfield, NJ, with visitation beginning at 9am and a service to follow at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory. Thinking of and praying for the Jinks family during this difficult time.

I am so heartbroken over Marlene´s passing. She was my mother´s (Pat Whyte) best friend and when my mother passed in 2022 Marlene was by my side offering comfort and support to me and my family. We became close and would often go out to lunch. Our last lunch was in October 2024. We kept planning other lunches but because of her illness we had to keep postponing them. We however kept in touch by phone. Marlene was a kind and caring person and I loved her. Rest in peace my dear friend. Gwenette
