In loving memory of Marlene Kay Kolar, affectionately known as "Maggie," who left this world quietly on August 13, 2025, at Country Club Manor in Bellaire, Ohio, at the age of 68. Born on December 19, 1956, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Marlene embodied an unwavering dedication to her community, having devoted over 40 years of her life as a Nurses Aide, a role she cherished while working at Bellaire Hospital until her early retirement at the tender age of 53 due to an illness she fought valiantly.

Marlene's spirit was nothing short of radiant; she had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, never meeting a stranger throughout her journey. A heart brimming with kindness and compassion, she would go above and beyond for anyone in need, offering her unconditional support without a moment’s hesitation. Her warmth was a light that brightened the lives of those around her, a living angel whose love knew no bounds. She has now ascended to a place of peace, watching over us as we carry forward her legacy of love.

She leaves behind a family that will miss her immensely. Her only daughter, Dawn M. Miracle of Colerain, and her cherished grandsons, Jacob Ray and Levi Ray, hold precious memories that will forever remind them of her smile and her gentle heart. Marlene was a proud grandmother to nine great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

Her siblings, each touched by her love, include Barbara Cowling of Canton, OH, Ada (Rick) Davis of Dallas Pike, WV, Linda (Patrick) Garrison of Chesapeake, VA, Barry (Christy) Barbe of Triadelphia, WV, and Keith Barbe of Morgantown, WV. Additionally, Marlene shared a bond with those who stood by her side like brothers, specifically Robert (Vivian) Kulpa Sr. and Ronald (Susan) Burns, who were as close as family.

Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodger Andrew Kolar, in 2020, and her father William ”Bill” G. Barbe and mother Barbara (Frost) Fisher. She also mourned the loss of her brother, Leonard "Lenny" Barbe. These relationships shaped her life, echoing her deep commitment to family and the love that reverberated through generations.

A visitation will be held on August 16, 2025, from 5 PM to 9 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 6 PM, both at the Schuetz Funeral Home, located at 4719 Jacob St., Wheeling, WV, 26003. In a testament to her loving spirit, family and friends are encouraged to bring a covered dish to celebrate her life, echoing her warm, inviting nature that always made others feel at home.Though Marlene Kay Kolar is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the hearts she touched and the lives she changed. She was not just a caregiver by profession but a nurturer of the soul, reminding us all of the profound impact one can have simply by loving unconditionally. Let us remember her not in sorrow but with gratitude for the gift of her presence in our lives. An angel walking among us, she has now taken her rightful place among the stars.
