Marlene LAUER Obituary

Age 71, of Shoreview, MN Joined her sisters, Linda and Karen and parents, Justin and Ruth in heaven on October 11th, 2023. Marlene is remembered as a loving, warm, and gentle spirit who was devoted to her faith, her family, and her Spanish speaking community. She was born January 2nd, 1952, in Mitchell, South Dakota. She graduated from St. Martin High School in 1970 and the College of St. Teresa in 1974 with a degree in Latin American Studies. She was married in November 1975 and had four children; Erica, Jessica, Justin, & Leana. After raising her children, she worked for the Roseville school district serving her Spanish-speaking families as a cultural liaison and interpreter. Her advocacy for, and devotion to her families made her an integral and well-loved part of the community. Marlene is survived by her two brothers, Gerry and Tom, her four children and four grandchildren. Visitation Monday Oct. 23 from 4-7 PM at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home, 515 Hwy 96 W., Shoreview. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tues, Oct. 24th (visitation 10-11AM) at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 N. Victoria, Shoreview. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marlene's name to CLUES at https://clues. salsalabs.org/donate /index.html.
