Marlene Lee, of Dawson, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at her home in Dawson at the age of 90.
Memorial services will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Kendall Stelter will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church or the Lac qui Parle Hope Network.

Marlene Yvonne Bergo was born on April 9, 1935, in Turtle Lake, ND, to John and Agnes (Lockrem) Bergo. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Marlene attended and graduated from Riverdale High School in Riverdale, ND. Following high school, she enrolled at Concordia University in Moorhead, MN, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education.
Marlene was united in marriage to Arthur Robert Lee on July 11, 1959, in Riverdale, ND. They made their home in Dawson, where Marlene taught at Dawson-Boyd High School. Three children were born to this union: John, Dan, and Tim.
Marlene was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson and was actively involved in many areas of church life, especially her Bible study group, “The Flock”. She had a great love of sewing and created many treasured items over the years. Above all, Marlene cherished time spent with her family. Whether enjoying days at Lake Cochrane or supporting her children and grandchildren at their school activities, family was always her greatest joy.
Marlene loved the lake. She shared this love with Bob, her boys, grandkids, and great grandkids. Her gift of cooking will forever be in our memory of spam burgers, sweet rolls, and fruit snacks.
She will be missed by all of us and we know her heavenly reunion with Tim was awesome.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Bob of Dawson; sons, John (Carla) Lee of Dawson and Dan (Stacey) Lee of Dawson; grandchildren, Kristen (Trevor) McKown, Mari (Christian) Pekarek, Joey (Sarah) Lee, Michael (Angela) Lee, Justine (Kevin) Krohn and Jake Lee; great-grandchildren, Myles and Austyn McKown, Leighton and Max Pekarek, Matthew Lee and Davey Lee; brothers, Jim and Dennis Bergo; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Tim Lee.
