Marlene B. Malone, 77 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday February 9, 2026 at Altercare of Bucyrus. Marlene was born June 9, 1948 in Bucyrus to the late Robert and Bernice (Cross) Brown. She was also preceded in death by husband’s George Malone and Christian Striker as well as brothers Robert and Paul Brown and 1 great grandchild.
Marlene is survived by children Elizabeth “Betty Jean” (Christopher Waldbauer) Striker, Matt (Connie Dietrich) Striker, and Teddie (Andrea Poffenbaugh) Skidmore; grandchildren Amanda Stover, Zachary (Alicia McGhee) Frazier, Tyler Striker, Tobias (Cathy Beam) Waldbauer, David Theo Skidmore, Jacen Goble, and Asethe Jaina (Devin Marsh) Goble; 12 great grandchildren; and former husband Ted Skidmore of Tiffin.
Marlene graduated from Wynford High School in 1966. She worked at various local businesses which included Dog and Suds, Miricle Mart, Special Packaging, Altercare, Hepco, Baja Boats, and C.E. White. Marlene last worked at Crossroads Candle Company. For several years Marlene was an Eagles member and held many officer roles, most recently with the Crestline Lodge #859. She was also very active in Boy Scouts as a Den mother and Scout Leader for over 10 years. Marlene served as a poll worker from 1988 until very recently and was a member of Woodlawn Global Methodist Church. She also enjoyed bowling and was on numerous bowling leagues throughout her lifetime. Marlene was also active in the Crawford County Council on Aging activities.
The family of Marlene will miss her famous fruit salad that she enjoyed making.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in Woodlawn Global Methodist Church with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Church and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
