Marlene Nichols, a devoted daughter, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 63 at the University of Kentucky Hospital with her family by her side. Born on January 11, 1962, Marlene lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and love for the simple things. She had a deep and special bond with her mother, a relationship she treasured dearly throughout her life. Marlene loved spending time with her family, often jokingly reminding everyone she was "the baby of the family." Her playful sense of humor and joyful spirit brought light into every room. Whether she was exploring yard sales, enjoying time outdoors, or relaxing with her beloved dog, Macy, Marlene found beauty in everyday moments and joy in the company of those she loved most.

Marlene's presence was a gift to all who knew her. She had a generous heart, a comforting smile, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. Her home was always a place of laughter, stories, and love.

Marlene is survived by her loving fiancé of 19 wonderful years, Ed Hutchens, who stood by her side through life's many seasons and shared countless beautiful memories together. Marlene leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Scott (Britney) Spicer of Frankfort, Caleb (Kim) Nichols of Frankfort, Brandi (Sam) Coleman of Versailles, and Mark Hutchens of Versailles and Stacey Hutchens of West Virginia. She is also survived by her cherished siblings: Franky (Peggy) Morrison, Rodger Morrison, Alta (Jazz) Renfro, Shirley (Ronnie) Lawson, Vickie (James) Morrison, Doronda (Danny) Bowman, and Tammy Morrison. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, whom she adored: Abbagale Spicer, Payton Spicer, Levi Nichols, Collin Reinhardt, Ann Marie Justice, Katelyn Trowbridge, Wyatt Coleman, Levi Hutchens, and Draden Stover.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Hilda Morrison and brothers Charles Morrison and James "Buzz" Morrison.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 3:00pm until the time of service at Pinckard Baptist Church followed by a memorial service at 4:00, officiated by Pastor Chad Carmack. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of a woman whose kindness and laughter will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us, Marlene's light continues to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.

Friends and family are encouraged to leave messages of condolences and memories on Marlene's tribute wall at www.Blackburnandward.com.
