Marlene Joyce Palmer

Marlene Joyce Palmer, age 93, of Farmington, MN passed away April 22, 2025. A private grave site service for family was held at 11 AM on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Corinthian Cemetery in Farmington MN.
She was born in Fargo, North Dakota, to Alys and Palmer Severtson. Marlene Met her husband Lee Palmer on a college band trip. They married in 1951. They were married almost 59 years when Lee passed away in 2010. Children: Douglas, Ann Keller (Jackson), Steven (Laura), Michael. Eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sister: Pauline (Ken) Moe. Preceded in death by; husband Lee; son Doug; grandson Russell; and her parents.
Marlene taught piano lessons for 19 years and was the music director for her church congregations for 27 years. She loved to play the piano and direct choirs for church services.
Marlene and Lee bought the Rest Well Motel in Farmington MN. They owned the motel for over 29 years. They also owned the Distinctive Catering company for 10 years.
Marlene taught herself to do fancy cake decorating. She loved to travel and said she and Lee visited 47 states by car. Marlene loved her family and celebrating Christmas by shopping all year and having large family gatherings to celebrate. She also loved flowers, golfing, ice skating, cooking, baking, and playing bridge and other card games.
