Marlene Pappis Obituary
Pittsburgh - Marlene (Hersperger) Pappis, age 57, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
Beloved wife for 35 years of Anthony "Tony" Pappis; loving mother of Athena (John) Hastings and Michael Pappis; cherished yia-yia (grandmother) of Anthony and Helena; daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Herda) Hersperger; daughter-in-law of the late Michael and Helen (Spiros) Pappis; sister of Joseph (Karen), Michael (Sharon), Richard (Tiffany) and James Hersperger; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Marlene was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, McCandless. She was an incredibly warm, kind, and devoted wife, mother, yia-yia, daughter-in-law, nona (godmother), thea (aunt), sister, sister-in-law, and friend; she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2pm -6pm, with Trisagion Service at 5:30pm, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in McCandless, 985 Providence Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00am until time of funeral services at 12pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, McCandless with Fr. John Touloumes officiating. Interment will follow at Saint George Chapel.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the hospice teams at AHN and Concordia's Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford for the loving and compassionate care given to Marlene during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association or the Holy Trinity Agape Fund in Marlene's memory. Online condolences can be made at www.schellhaasfh.com.

Marlene was such a genuinely warm-hearted friend, mum and wife. Graceful, kind, beautiful. She was what everyone desires in a woman, quick to laugh, loyal, caring.
