Marlene A Proper

Marlene A. Proper passed unexpectedly at home on April 7, 2025 in Athens NY. She was born in Catskill NY on July 5, 1956. She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Grace Proper, her son Justin L. Proper, her brother Stanley Niekamp, her sisters Charlotte Bond, and Norma Jean Gogger. She is survived by her daughter Jessica L. Proper and the apple of her eye her granddaughter Kaitlyn Praetorious, her sisters Janet VanSchaack, Jeanette Whittaker, Karen Shutter, Constance June, and her brother Kenneth Proper Jr. Marlene or as her family knew her as Marty or MAP was a hard working individual who worked 20 years at American Valve and spent the next 30 years working for Ducommun Aerostructure. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and NY Yankees fan. Marlene In her day enjoyed playing cards, softball, and going fishing. May her vibrant smile and love for life be a lasting memory for all who knew her. At this time the family is having a private cremation.
