It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Marlene Ann Reid.

Dr. Marlene Ann Reid passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Calvary Chapel Church, 8614 Mahan Dr., with burial at Clifford Hill Cemetery.

Viewing will be from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday, March 19, 2026 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.

Dr. Reid, a noted theologian, is a native of San Bernadino, California. She has received degrees from Shiloh Bible College, Associate of Arts from Sierra Pacific Bible College (also known as Northern California Bible College), Bachelor of Science from California State University-Hayward, Masters of Divinity Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a PhD from University of Aberdeen, Scotland UK in Divinity, Biblical Studies (Old and New Testaments).

For over 40 years Dr. Reid actively served in ministry with accomplishments of creating and teaching a Discipleship series for many years, co-founded a Bible college and served as head instructor in Antioch, California, wrote and led a collection of lectures for Women's Bible Studies entitled, Portraits of Courage, with topics on The Stories of Rahab, The Samaritan Woman, and The Anointing at Bethany: Mary and Martha, among others. Since 2017, Dr. Reid has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Saint Leo University Department of Theology in St. Leo, Florida. Additionally, she was an online Professor of New Testament Theology at Séminaire (see- me- naire) Théologique (the olo – jii k) Mon-del-us, Milot (meel – oo), Haiti Campus, and an instructor in the General Licensing program for ministers under Grace International's Clute Texas ministry.

Dr. Reid has been an invited speaker to several professional and academic organizations, including the Evangelical Theological Society, British New Testament Society, Society for Biblical Literature, Saint Leo University Faculty Development, American Academy of Religion Southeast Regional Meeting, and the University of St Andrews Biblical Studies Symposium. She was a member of several professional and academic organizations, including Grace International, Society for Biblical Literature, E-van-gel-ical Theological Society, Institute for Biblical Research, British New Testament Society, and Enoch Seminar.

Dr. Marlene Reid was a divinely dedicated lover of God who was spiritually gifted and shared her talents by walking in faith. She attended Calvary Chapel for almost 20 years, where she taught children's classes; and assisted in women's ministry, teaching through several books of the bible. She is also a member of several professional and academic organizations.

Dr. Reid and her husband have traveled extensively, including Israel, Europe, Egypt, Central America, Canada and the UK, hence her "need" to "travel across the pond" to complete her Ph.D.

Dr. Reid is the daughter of Josh Randolph and Zelma Randolph. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Reid, two children, Joshua Reid and Yamirah Reid, loving siblings Yvonne Davis, Beverly Campbell, Michael Randolph, nieces and nephews, Lanika Brown, Kamaria Brown, Armand Brown, Nicole Campbell, Natasha Campbell, Michael Randolph Jr. and a host of relatives, and friends.
