Marlene A. Grieme Reinders, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. She was born on March 31, 1936, in Springfield, Illinois, to Herman and Rebecca “Bessie” Grieme, who preceded her in death.
Marlene spent much of her life serving faithfully as a church secretary, a role she deeply loved and in which she devoted herself wholeheartedly. Her strong faith was the foundation of her life, and she remained a dedicated and active member of Central Baptist Church for many years. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially sharing a comforting meal at Cracker Barrel with family and friends. She also greatly enjoyed traveling, particularly trips to the Sight & Sound Theatre in Pennsylvania, where her love of faith, storytelling, and togetherness came together in meaningful ways.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Kendra Reinders Daniels; her grandchildren, Kristen Daniels, Terry Daniels II, and Makayla Hackett; and several cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret Reinders, and her brother-in-law, Melvin Reinders (Brenda).
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Dale Reinders; her son, Gregory Reinders; and her older brother, Donald Grieme.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Woodlands in Farmville, Virginia, for their compassion, love, and devoted care shown to Marlene during her time there.
Marlene will be remembered for her quiet strength and unwavering faith.
The family will receive friends at Central Baptist Church, 59 Merryman Drive, Victoria, Virginia. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from noon until start of services at 1PM.
