Marlene Reynolds Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home - Bellevue on Dec. 7, 2025.
Marlene Reynolds, 88, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away on December 5, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft Thomas, KY with her Goddaughter, Michelle by her side. She was the only child of Ralph "Speedy" Reynolds and Katherine "Cele" (nee Finnegan) Reynolds, both deceased. She worked as an office manager/bookkeeper for 46 years for the F.W. Woolworth Co. (as did her mother for 41 years). She studied voice with the late Wilfred Engleman at the Cincinnati College/Conservatory of Music. Beginning at age 14, she sang solo in churches in KY & OH accompanied by the late Donald Ware, Organist as well as singing in her own church choir. She performed in many musicals and plays with the Catholic Theatre Guild of NKY and the Xavier Masque Society. She and her mother loved to travel (Daddy didn't) so they went by train, bus and boat until Marlene was old enough to drive since they would not fly. They covered all of the lower 48 states except CO & OR with several trips to Canada. At age 11, she and her mother walked across the border into Mexico to take a few pictures so they could say they visited there, too. They enjoyed attending the opera, symphony and theatre (Daddy didn't like this either) but he joined them at the racetrack instead. She is survived by her Godchildren & their families, who she loved dearly. They are Michelle and Bryan Florence, LaGrange, KY, Brian Petrick, Atlanta, GA, Steve McKinney, Elsmere, KY, and the late Terri Cottingham. She is also survived by many dear friends. Visitation Tuesday, December 9 from 10:00 to11:00 am at Divine Mercy Church, Taylor and Division Sts., Bellevue with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00am. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Divine Mercy Church Capital Campaign, 318 Division St., Bellevue, KY 41073 or Glenmary Home Missioners, 4119 Glenmary Trace, Fairfield, OH 45014 would be appreciated. Online condolences to dmefuneral.com. Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home is serving the family.
