Marlene Watkins Obituary
Marlene D. Watkins, age 92 of Canton, passed away August 14th, 2024, after a battle with cancer.
She was born June 29th, 1932, to the late William & Evelyn Carnes. Marlene graduated from Timken Vocational High School, where she met her future husband, Richard D. Watkins.
She is well known as the greatest Cleveland Indians fan ever to have lived, she loved horses, the color pink, and painting. An artist in her own right, she left behind several pieces often featuring the oceanside.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Jerry. She was survived by a large family including four children – Timothy (Sherry) Watkins, Matthew (Mary) Watkins, June Watkins (Jenny Spears), and Malia (Tom) Burgasser, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and brother, Stephen Carnes.
Friends may call Saturday, August 17th, 2024, 10-12:00 at Arnold Funeral Home 1517 Market Ave N., Canton. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 with Pastor Joshua Daniels officiating. The burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's or Aultman Compassionate Care.
