The Life and Times of Marlo Kaempf

Born June 7, 1938 at Plum City Hospital to parents Otto and Lucy (Rice) Kaempf. Died January 8, 2026 at home in Durand.

I Graduated high school in May 1956. After graduation I entered the Marine Corps in Air Traffic Control. In 1958, I married and had 4 Children: Ronald, Rebecca, Dean and Beth (deceased). In 1959, I went to work for Bauer Built. In 1975, I divorced.

One Day in 1988, Eddie Brunner decided to sell his restaurant therefore I started to look elsewhere for my eating. I ran across a lady who kept making me pay double for my drinks (I kept losing at dice). Her name was Sam... She had a whole flock of kids: Samantha, Cassondra, Michal and Katrina. In February of 1989, Sam and I married. One year and three months later a surprise came along and we called him Patrick (can you imagine at our age). After 41 years, on December 31, 2000 I retired from Bauer Built. Spending my free time in my garage building wooden items for the family. Our family consists of 9 Children, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Marlo is survived by his wife, Sam, siblings Larry, Linda and Diane and children. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, granddaughter, siblings Lavonne and Danny.

A graveside service will be at Porcupine Cemetery in the Spring. He will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be made in Marlo's name to the Durand Volunteer Fire Department.
