Retired School Teacher: Taught 1st Grade in Reading and Arlington (Boston area), Massachusetts, and Beach School in Rocky River, Ohio
Church Membership: Marlys was baptized on March 24, 1945 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rocky River, Ohio. She was a lifelong member of Rocky River United Methodist Church.
Music Organizations: Fuller Sounds Hand Bell Choir, Rocky River United Methodist Church, 1979-2019; Bay Village Community Band, alto saxophone and xylophone, 1983-2018; Rocky River Community Band, alto saxophone, 1994-2017; Dixie Dreamers Jazz Band, piano/ keyboard, 1992-1996; Senior "Saxy" Scholars, 2009-2012; Fairview Jazz Band, 2004; Hammond Organ Society, Westgate Chapter.
High School: Rocky River, graduated 1948, active in band.
College: Baldwin Wallace University, graduated 1952, degree in Elementary Education. Member of Delta Zeta Sorority; participated in marching and concert bands.
