Marlys Jean Skordahl was born on June 20, 1929, in Louisburg to Elmer and Myrtle (Bordson) Skordahl. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and grew up in Louisburg, graduating from Appleton High School in 1947. On April 14, 1956, Marlys was united in marriage to Louis Radermacher at Most Holy Trinity Church in St. Louis Park. They established their business, Radermacher Oil Equipment, and home in Montevideo, building their home and business while raising their four children together. Marlys did the books for their business and after their children were older, worked 15 plus years in the bookkeeping department at First National Bank. Louis passed January 2014. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage together. Marlys's main focus was always family. She enjoyed every get-together, no matter how small or large. She welcomed all who stopped in, coffee pot always on, always a smile, always welcoming. She enjoyed playing cards, bridge, and bingo. Louie and Marlys socialized in many card groups, bowling league, snowmobiling, camping, and participated in all church events. Family was always their main focus. She enjoyed "coffeeing," stopping for cappuccino, cards, and activities with ladies at work, Watson, church, and the Senior Center. Marlys was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and did recite the Norwegian prayers often. Marlys moved to Brookside Senior Living in April 2017 and loved it. The last two years were in memory care. She continued to do word find puzzles correctly - sometimes 2-3 a day thanks to Brookside staff. We cannot thank the staff enough. We have been so blessed to have Marlys at Brookside. Marlys always had a smile, always saying thank you and greeting everyone with -" I love you" - "and don't forget." Her love and kindness always shined through. Marlys, Mom, Grandma, GG - We won't forget!! We love you and know you are in heaven with Jesus. Marlys is survived by her children, Cynthia Zeman, Debra (Mark) Suek, Kurt (Jill) Radermacher, and Kevin (Jill) Radermacher; grandchildren, Britta (Nikolai) Kleven, Megan (Jake) Daoust, Matthew (Holly) Suek, Algirdas (Keedy) Suek, Philip Radermacher, Dana (Luke) Anderson, Derek (Brenna) Radermacher and Jordan (Rayna) Radermacher; great-grandchildren, Hjalmar, Henrietta, and Hilda Kleven; Ranae, Leo, and Caroline Daoust; Olen and Inno Suek; Rowan and Weston Anderson; Eloise Radermacher; Takoda and Makoe McCane and Bunny Radermacher; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
