New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, for Marnell Freyou, 75, who passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024.
Entombment will be at a later date.
Rev. Keith Landry will be the Celebrant.
Visitation will be Friday, from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home.
A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 10:00 am on Friday.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Freyou was born on March 16, 1949, to the Joseph Robicheaux and Eva Landry. She worked for several years as a tour guide for Tabasco, at Avery Island. Mrs. Freyou enjoyed cross stitching; however, her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, John W. Freyou, Jr. (Theresa) and Matthew Freyou (Robin); grandchildren, Chelsea Freyou Home (Ryan), Rebecca Freyou (Riley Courville), Tyler Freyou, Ethan Freyou, Reese Freyou, Addison Freyou, and Aubrey Freyou; great granddaughter, Maeve Home; brother, Kenneth Dugas; and sisters, Joann Bonin and Stephanie Myers (Kirk).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Wayne Freyou, Sr.; father, Joseph Robicheaux; and her mother, Eva Landry Dugas.
