He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jackie Cooper, and sister Brigitte Cooper Bass.
Marques leaves behind his children Marc Patrick Collier and Markeisha Cooper; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his siblings Gloria Thompson, Henrietta Cooper, Charles Cooper (Jackie), Jean Ann Dean (Samuel), Barsha Porter (Sam), Pamela Matthews (Billy), Deborah Tillman (Leveren), Donna Cooper, Ricky Moore; special friends Angela Blocker and Angie Waller; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends whom he loved dearly.
Marques was a proud United States Veteran. He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Newport. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville.
