He was born on Sunday, March 24 1946, in Russell Springs, KY.
He was the son of:
Mother - Maudie Johnson Popplewell, who has preceded him in death
Father - Emmitt Popplewell, who has preceded him in death
Survivors also include:
1 Sister:
Katie Hatfield, of Jabez KY
1 Brother:
Thurman Popplewell, of Columbus IN
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Nona E. Siler, Margie Roslene Chumbley, Audeen Fox, Vonda Mae Fizer, Ocus, Coy, Dewell, Bruce, Kirby, and Darwin Popplewell. He was retired from the Kentucky State Parks and a veteran of the United States Army.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, November 17 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
Visitation will be 11 AM Monday, November 17 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
Interment will be in Popplewell Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.
Military honors provided by Russell County Honor Guard.
