Marsha Elise Kapphahn, 69, of Fargo, ND, passed away surrounded by family on April 24, 2025, at the Sanford Broadway Medical Center.
Marsha was born on March 2, 1956 at the US Army Hospital in Muenchweiler Germany, to Erwin and Ruth (Olson) Neprud. She graduated from Halstad High School and Minnesota State University Moorhead. Marsha worked as the head of the Animal and Range Science Nutrition Lab at North Dakota State University for 42 years, where she was known for her leadership and exceptional attention to detail, before retiring in 2022.
Marsha was beloved by her family and always took care of those around her. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a calming presence to those around her and will be greatly missed.
Marsha is survived by her husband of 43 years, James, her daughters, Elise (Benjamin) Feldpausch and Ashton (Matthew) Kowske, her grandchildren, Alexander, Maxwell, Emma, and Madelyn, as well as her mother, Ruth Neprud, and siblings, Lori (Joe) Ardovino, Kristi (Jerome) Freeberg, Dean (Jennifer) Neprud, Jim (Kellie) Neprud, Rob (Tonia) Neprud. She was preceded in death by her father, Erwin, and brother, Erwin Jr (Buzz). She'll live on in the memory of her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, with visitation one hour prior and followed by a funeral reception at the church.
