Marsha Rashell Matthews, age 63 of Springfield, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, surrounded by love. Marsha was born on August 31, 1960, in Springfield to Everett and Linda (Cloud) Smith.
Marsha's life was seasoned with her love for cooking, reading in the park, and trying her luck at casinos – though some say she had better luck in the kitchen than at the slot machines! Marsha picked up cooking skills out of necessity – blame it on her mom, Linda, whose cooking could have used some divine intervention! Luckily for family reunions, Marsha's culinary talents shone bright with her famous noodles stealing the show every time. She made sure to pass down this noodle legacy to her granddaughters from the time they were just old enough to sit on the counter – a tasty tradition that will live on.
Marsha's true joy came from looking after her granddaughters who meant the world to her. It's clear that even in her absence, she'll forever be watching over those dear girls.
Survivors include: her mother Linda Smith of Ozark; her brother, Mark Smith and wife Kim of Springfield; her daughter, Brandy Scholl and husband Justin of Beatrice, Nebraska; granddaughters, Isabella Grace, Elizabeth Amelia; a special uncle, Larry Cloud of Nixa; special nephew, Loren William Smith and wife Alyssa of Lee's Summit (William Lee, Keylee Jane); nephews, Jeremy and Joshua Smith of Springfield; niece, Madi Smith of Springfield; ex-sisters-in-law, Paige Kessler and Mary Smith; her second mother, Wanda McMullin; special friend, Connie Reed; cousins, Eric Cloud of Taylor Texas and Stanci Jan Sodersteron and husband Eric of Lee's Summit (Keely and Madeline).
Marsha was preceded in death by her father Everett; her aunt, Dee Cloud; grandparents, Loren and Wilma Cloud, John and Irene Marley; friends and extended family, Rod and Jackie Terrill, Richard McMullin, Barbara and Grady Lloyd.
Marsha's family would be honored if everyone could join them for a memorial visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
The family thanks Springfield Villa and Preferred Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Marsha and her family.
