Marshall David Benjamin

Marshall Benjamin passed away on December 28, 2025 following a brief illness. He was 3 days shy of his 92nd birthday. Marshall was born in New Britain, Connecticut on December 31, 1933 and moved to Turlock in 1948. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1952 and attended Modesto Junior College until enlisting in the U.S. Air Force.

Marshall served with the 6200th Air Police Squadron at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines during the Korean War. He married Lula Belle Varner on March 2, 1958 and had one daughter. In 1960, Marsh started working part-time at Inland Wholesale Hardware and worked his way up to the position of General Manager.

Marsh was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Turlock and enjoyed motorcycles and muscle cars, owning several over the years.

Marshall is survived by his daughter, Sheila McBride; grandson, Jesse James Silva, both of Turlock, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Benjamin; grandson, Michael McBride; and son-in-law, D. Mike McBride.
