Marshall L. Caton, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at his residence surrounded by loved ones.
Born, June 8, 1930, in Frostburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Marshall and Betty Ann Caton.
Marshall retired from Giant, as a meat cutter and a member of Local #400 AFL/CIO. He also owned and operated Dutch Butcher Shop in Waldorf, Maryland.
He was a member of the Frostburg Covenant Brethren Church, where he served as a Board Member. Marshall loved to sing and was a member of the September Singers of Cumberland and was also a member of the Stained-Glass Bluegrass singing group in Waldorf. He and his wife Lisa loved to entertain, sing, and perform at numerous churches and functions. Marshall also enjoyed getting together with his friends at the “Liar’s Club” at the Princess Restaurant in Frostburg.
Surviving him is one son, Jaimie Caton (fiancé, Jackie Wind), Ft. Myers, FL; two daughters, Tammy McCloud (Dennis), Savannah, GA, Marsha Cadwalader (Rusty), Lusby, MD, two stepdaughters, Mona Williams, Charlotte Hall, MD and Sheila Hall, Odenton, MD, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and lifelong friend John Rafferty, who he considered as a brother.
Family and Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 10:00 am with Rev. Mark Durst officiating.
