Marshall William Patterson was born November 17, 1948 in Razor, TX to Harry and Ruth Patterson. The family moved to Topeka, KS where Marshall attended local schools. He died unexpectedly Monday, November 4, 2024 in Colorado Springs, CO.
Marshall married Ruthann Dorsey and leaves his loving wife and two children, Brett (Keri) Patterson and Ami McClain. Also mourning his loss are 3 grandsons, RaShon (Whitney) Patterson, Geno Patterson, and DeVante Jones, a granddaughter, Taylor Clifton, 3 great-grandchildren, Taeshawn, Taila, and Naliyah, as well as Goddaughter, Rachel Pate Finley and Godson, David Cowan.
Marshall will be missed greatly by his siblings, Floyd, Paul, and Richie (Brenda) Patterson and Mary (Steve) Winn, all of Topeka, KS. A host of other family members also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Helen Patterson and Patsy Young, and a great-grandson, DeAndre Patterson.
Mr Patterson served his country by serving in the US Army. He later retired from Western Forge after 42 years as a Production Operator. Marshall was a devoted member of True Spirit Baptist Church where he once served as a greeter and usher. He also worked with the food pantry.
Marshall was a dedicated and God-fearing husband, father, and grandpa who loved his family and always worked hard to take care of them. He was always willing to help others wherever he could.
He loved bowling, basketball, and football (GO CHIEFS!) and if you really wanted a good conversation with him, Talk Sports!!
We miss him already and know that he is finally resting in that heavenly place with God. No more worries, no more cares. Joy every day.
Take your rest, my love. I'll see you on the other side
