Marshall Bradford "BB-Bad Brad" Smith, 64, of Carlsbad passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Marshall Bradford Smith was born on July 10, 1961, at Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee, to William O'Dale Johnson and Beulah E. Bell Johnson of Washington County, Tennessee. He was later raised in part by his stepfather, Jack W. Smith of Perry County, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Brian Johnson.
He is survived by his sister, Billie Dale Hillenbrand; his son, Dylan Brian Gilbert-Smith and wife Taylor; and his daughter, Whitney George-Ann Smith. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, four nieces, one nephew, one great-niece, and two great-nephews.
Marshall worked in the pipeline industry for many years, where he built a reputation for his strong work ethic and dedication. In his free time, he loved BBQing with his son and grandson on the weekends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and good food. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and taking in the open road.
He was very much loved by his family and friends, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
