Marshall Zoerink Obituary
He attended Lynden Christian School & then helped on the family farm.
Marshall married Yvonne (Vonnie) Stap on July 7, 1954, and together they had five children.
Marshall was a charter member of Third Christian Reformed Church and served as elder and deacon over multiple years. He was a member of the Puget Sount Antique Tractor & Machinery Club. Also was a member of the Kings Men of Song choir for many years.
Marshall started working on the family farm and then for Zoerink & John Louws Construction. Followed by Lynden Ready Mix and Western Concrete Pumping.
Marshall enjoyed working – to put it mildly. Always had a spotlessly clean vehicle. Raised his children with a good work ethic. Tinkered on his antique tractors. Enjoyed traveling – many times to Mexico and Winthrop. Playing Secret Five card game with kids and grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed the Dutch Treat Saturday morning breakfasts at the round table as well as coffee there, and the "Burger King" weekly coffee group. You would often see him driving around town in his blue Chevy pickup to see the sights.
Marshall will be greatly missed by his children, Arv and Bridget Zoerink, Marlin and Becki Zoerink, Marlys and Ken Lange, Luanne and Darren Lagerwey, 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He will also be missed by his siblings, Nelda Stuit, Phyllis (Sherm) Polinder, Brother-in-law Don Elsbree, Sister in laws Joan (Ray) Stuit, Lorraine (Dick) Katte and Jeanette Stap. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Junie Marlys, and sister Greta Elsbree.
A graveside service will be held at Monumenta Cemetery on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10:15 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Third Christian Reformed Church. Donations can be made to Peace Health Hospice House or your charity of choice.
