On Monday, February 2, 2026, Marta Armendariz Nava, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 78.
Marta was born on February 18, 1947, in El Paso, TX. Marta graduated from Bowie High School and went on to work at Thomason Hospital, followed by many years with Sears, and the El Paso Independent School District. She went on to retire from Western Dairy Transport on January 1, 2025, where she was the Office Manager for over 25 years.
Marta loved watching Hallmark movies, but most of all, she enjoyed watching her Dallas Cowboys play every Sunday. Marta loved sports and played everything from softball to volleyball. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and her “kids” as she lovingly called them.
Marta is survived by her former husband, Robert Nava, her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Julian Palma, three grandchildren; Amanda Aguirre, Jesse Aguirre, and Zane Palma; granddaughter in-law, Tatiana Aguirre; and her three great-grandchildren, Allizae Martinez, Emma Aguirre, and Ellie Aguirre.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM, Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina Dr.
