Martha Sanchez Alvarez, 95, of Forest, Virginia, was born into eternal life on the morning of March 12, 2025. She was the widow of the love of her life, Adolfo Alvarez, and was married to him for nearly 50 years.
Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Susan and Danny Nelson, Lorraine and Craig Posey. Grandchildren, Carynne and Jonathan Posey.
Born in Mexico City, Martha grew up a devout Catholic. She taught others about Jesus. Martha ran various small businesses and owned her own beauty shop. She enjoyed Knitting, cleaning, dancing, discovering restaurants and traveling. Martha had a huge heart and loved her family so much.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church Lynchburg, Va. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Catholic Diocesan Cemetery. Visitation will be at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive Lynchburg Va. on Friday, March 28th, 2025, from 6-8 p.m.
