Martha Baldwin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Purcell Chapel on Mar. 5, 2026.
Martha Mary Baldwin (née West), age 92, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in

Simpsonville, South Carolina. Born on July 8, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Edmund Chase

West and Margaret Iowa West (née Cook), Martha lived a life marked by faith, love, and

devotion to God and her family.

Martha graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where she majored in zoology. Her

academic pursuits reflected her keen intellect and curiosity about the natural world. However, it

was her unwavering faith and dedication to sharing the Gospel that became the cornerstone of

her life.

In 1969, Martha experienced a transformative moment when she placed her trust in Jesus

Christ as her Savior. This pivotal decision not only shaped her own life but also profoundly

impacted those around her. Through her witness and testimony, her husband Richard Baldwin

and their children came to know the Lord. Martha's passion for sharing Jesus and teaching His

Word brought countless individuals to Christ and helped many others deepen their faith. Her

genuine love for God and people was evident in every interaction, always accompanied by her

radiant smile.

Martha was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard Baldwin and her sister Nancy

(Harry) Eoriatti. She is survived by three children: Margaret (Lonnie) Richards, William (Elaine)

Baldwin, and James (Denise) Baldwin; thirteen grandchildren along with their spouses; and

twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Her legacy of faith and love lives on through each of them.

Martha's life was a testament to the power of grace and the joy of serving others. Her memory

will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

May her unwavering faith and loving spirit bring comfort to those who mourn her passing. A

Committal was held on February 10, 2026, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell,

Florida, following a viewing and time with the family at Byers Funeral Home-Purcell Chapel,

114 West Noble Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Living Hope Church, 16701

Square Drive, Marysville, Ohio. 43040. A light dinner will follow.
