Martha Agnes Bova, 71, was born to Atwood T. Lauw* and Retha Downs Lauw in Natchitoches, Louisiana on December 5, 1954. She passed away peacefully in Shreveport, Louisiana on March 15, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Martha Bova was an unforgettable woman, with a fiery spirit that matched her flaming red hair. During her lifetime she worked at many industrial jobs, and took pride in being as hard working as any man.
She loved to crochet snowflake ornaments, make elaborate desserts for her family, and collect pretty things, such as her large collections of angels, chickens, and nutcrackers. She loved making beautiful quilts with intricate designs and gifting them to her loved ones. She loved animals, especially her cats. She loved Astros baseball, reality TV, and old western movies.
Martha Bova loved many things, but there was nothing on earth that she loved more than her family. She would do anything for them, and took every opportunity to bring them together for crawfish boils, barbecues, or holiday meals. She enjoyed spoiling her loved ones with Easter baskets, thoughtful Christmas and birthday presents, and long phone conversations.
She was very patriotic, and was very proud of her family members who served in both the military or as law enforcement. They could depend on her to provide a hug when they needed it, a care package mailed over seas, or a phone call or letter to remind them someone was thinking about and praying for them. These family members are signified with an asterisk.
Martha’s love for her family and friends was the gravity that pulled all of them together. Her absence will always be felt by those who knew and loved her. Her family finds peace knowing she had faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and is now resting eternally with him.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mark Bova*; sister, Belva Welch, and husband, Jean; and brother, Alvin Earl Lauw*.
She is survived by her children: James Christopher Daniels* and wife, Melinda; Paul Thomas Daniels* and wife, Janice; Phillip Michael Daniels* and wife, Wendy; Steven Jacob Randolph and wife, Angela; Sarah Bova Hydorn* and husband, Erik*; Joshua Paul Bova* and wife, Amanda; and adopted son Michael Simmons and wife, Shelly. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ashleigh, Kathryn, Dylan*, Cordell, Emily, Abigail, Elizabeth, Willow, Jaycee, Austin, Gage*, Colt, Jaxon, and Harper. She is survived by 5 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Marthaville First Baptist Church on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 2 PM.
