Martha A. Buckley died peacefully in her Harper Woods home on May 3rd, 2017. She was surrounded by her children: Kevin, of Elkridge, MD; Emily, of Seattle, WA; and Lisa, of Long Beach, NY. Martha enjoyed her career as a dental hygienist, assisting patients for more than 30 years at the office of Dr. Riley and later Dr. Colon and for more than 10 years at the office of Dr. Stewart. She loved teaching new students as a member of the faculty in the dental hygiene program at Wayne County Community College. Martha was active in her church, worshiping at Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church and serving as a wedding coordinator for over 10 years. In her free time, Martha enjoyed cycling, canoeing, hiking and traveling to visit with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 26 years, Kevin Joseph. She is survived by her children, three sisters: Bonita (Joseph) Medici, Carol (Robert) Price, and Mary (Christopher) McClees, and her sister-in-law Marianne (Brian) Stone. She left behind many dear friends and family members who loved and supported her. Visitation hours will be held at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan from 2-9 pm on Sunday May 7. A funeral service will be held on Monday May 8 at 2 pm at Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church. Donations in memory of Martha can be sent to West Ohio UMC Camps to support Acorn Buddy Camp, a camp for children and young adults with physical disabilities. dear sweet Martha.
All My life I have thought of Kevin and You, but lacked the courage look for You after Kevin's passing.
I have been wanting to apologize to You for years now, for leaving Your wedding reception, and going to my five year reunion on the day of Your marriage, please forgive Me, Kevin and You both Martha, I was so selfish back then.
I can still remember Your perfect Wedding day at Marth Mary Chapel, You both looked so happy, and in love with each other.
I have so many regrets, your gone too, with out Me saying that again, I am sorry..
I had so many good times with Kevin, working at Mid-West Paper, so many years ago now, but the memories, live in My heart..
I know the day You past, You had a big smile on Your face, because Kevin was there to bring You home..all My care and God's Blessings..I will never forget You both, as long as I live..We will all be together again..

As a longtime customer of Dr. Riley's we spent many times in Martha's chair. It was a big surprise to see the photo on the counter at the reception office and find out what happened. She was a wonderful person and is dearly missed.

Much too young to be taken so soon. I remember your mother in our neighborhood of mostly girls. She helped Kathy M. teach us the Wendy Ward classes they took along with countless other bake sales, front porch plays and variety show and games on the front lawns. She was a great neighbor. I am so sorry for your loss.

Martha was my dental hygentist for many years. Because of her kind nature, I always looked forward to catching up with her on my visits. I am sad she wasn't able to enjoy her retirement that she worked so hard for. I will remember her fondly! RIP Sweet Martha
