Martha Mae (McVicker) Carter passed away with her children by her side at family home on August 20, 2024. Cremation Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at a later date.
Martha was born on December 30, 1947 to Ernest McVicker and Opal Clark McVicker. She grew up in Douglas, Ok and graduated from Covington High School. She married Leroy Carter on May 18, 1967. She worked as a nurse’s aide, certified medical aid, cook, waitress, and later worked in home health care. She also raised two of her grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her children, Jerry Carter of Ponca City, Shane Carter of Douglas, Alana Carter of Vinita, Ok, Dylan Carter and his wife Tammy of Enid; five grandchildren, Daniel Carter and his wife Samantha; Miranda, Jeremy, Christian, and Juanita; five great-grandchildren Kiari, Junior, Trent, Jayce, Starlet, and Kiara. A brother, Terry McVicker and wife Bobbie of Canton, OK, and sister, Sharon Pope and husband Ron of Canton, OK, sister Geneva Drake also survive Martha.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leroy, parents Ernest and Opal McVicker, five brothers Raymond, Jack, Donnie, David, Jerry and two sisters Betty Cramer and Mary White.
