Martha Joy Cave, 96, of Nashville, passed away on February 9, 2026. Born and raised in Memphis, Joy married Joseph D. Cave at age 17 and relocated to Nashville a few years later.
Joy was a devoted follower of Jesus who lived to encourage others. All she did came from a heart of love. She expressed that best through her delicious meals, thoughtful personal notes, and her countless heartfelt prayers. Her sense of humor and kindness for everyone she met made her a "joy" to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Gary Cave and Cindy Cave Baird (Pete); her grandchildren, Katie Baird Holt (Chip) and John Baird; and many dear friends.
a graveside service for friends and family will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12:30pm at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens (9090 Highway 100, Nashville TN, 37221, 615-646-9292), with Pastor Chip Holt of North Beach Vineyard Church officiating. Casual dress is encouraged. The family invites you to sign the virtual guest book and share your favorite stories of Joy.
