Martha "Jenny" Geneva Clay, 76, of Collinsville, MS, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 1, 2024, with her caretaker and friend, Dianne Hill, by her side.
Jenny, the baby of her large family, was born to Vester and Arlettie (Baxter) Doggett in Choctaw County, Alabama on May 13, 1947. She will be remembered as being a loving grandmother who adored her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Her door and kitchen were always open for anyone in need. Jenny loved to craft and cross-stitch and would often be found making bead angels to give out.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents; numerous siblings; and her stepdaughter, Pam Lawson.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Michael “Mike” Clay; her seven children, Ronald Bridges (Margie), David Stafford, Robbie Stafford, Martha Mott Dearman, Kat Tracy (Phil), Angie Suire (Daniel), and Amber Jones (Tommy); two stepchildren, Tony Clay and Cheryl Welch (George); her brother, Edward Doggett (Jeanette) of Missouri; nephew, Alvie Bishop; along with a legacy of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North, located at 7774-A Hwy 39 N, Meridian, MS.
