Martha Ann (Crock) Gegos, age 92.
Beloved wife of the late Harry Gegos. Loving Mother to Cynthia Burgermyer. Grandmother to Sam Burgermyer and Crystal Burgermyer. Great Grandmother to Layla Cook. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Sylvia Crock; brothers, Don and Glenn and her twin sister, K. Joanne; son, Sam Gegos and grandson Blaine Burgermyer.
Martha was born in Mt. Gilead, Ohio and moved the family to Trenton Michigan after WWII. She graduated from Trenton, Class of 1950!
She married Harry in 1952 and moved to Riverview in 1957. When her children went to school, she attended Eastern Michigan University, which she earned her Master’s degree in Math and French.
Her first year of teaching was at Seitz Middle School then transferred to the Riverview High School to teach Math and French. She enriched students' lives by exposing them to French culture through field trips and led the French Club.
For many years she supported the Riverview Hall of Fame. She received the senior Citizen Award, and in 2022 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Visitation will take place at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, Ridge Chapel on Wednesday, July 23, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Martha to the Riverview United Methodist Church.
