Martha "Marti" Faye (Key) Dosmann, age 88, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas "Tom," parents Bernard and Linnie (Dillingham) Key, siblings Delbert Key, Buddy Key, Margaret McKinney, Aminell Harbin, Maymie Pride, Willadean Key, and granddaughter Corrin Dosmann. Immediate surviving family consists of son Thomas "Tom" and wife Debbie (Lapinsky), daughter Catherine "Cathy" and husband Roger Crocker, and son Gregory "Greg" and wife Sharon (Louis). Martha Faye is also survived by seven grandchildren: Veronica (Ken) Canen, Jeremiah (Jamie) Dosmann, Jordan (Bridgette) Dosmann, Chelsea Davenport, Misheal Crocker, Aubrey (Nick) Pass, and Alyssa (Will) Samuel; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Faye, as her family called her, was born on November 8, 1936, in Nortonville, Kentucky. Her family moved to Mishawaka, Indiana when she was 6 years old. Faye graduated from Mishawaka High School where she had marched in the band as a Majorette and participated in theater productions. Faye also actively participated in Youth for Christ. She married her high school sweetheart, Tom, on December 1, 1956.
Marti, as her friends knew her, was continually active in church related activities. She regularly served in Vacation Bible School each summer, taught Sunday school for many years, sponsored a junior high youth group along with her husband, attended various ladies' Bible study groups, and began a Bible study in her local neighborhood for fellow retirees. In addition to church related activities, she also taught a women's pistol class for the South Bend Recreation and Parks Department.
Professionally, Marti worked as a secretary for a local bank and later for an insurance company before beginning a family. She worked as a real estate agent and broker while her children were in school as it allowed her the flexibility of keeping family first. Once her children were on their own, she returned to being an office manager for an attorney until she retired.
Martha "Marti" Faye had an indomitable spirit of love about her, especially when it came to her family and friends. Her priorities of placing the Lord first, family second, and herself last was obvious to all who knew her. She strove toward and succeeded in being a modern day Proverbs 31 woman, full of faith and good works toward others.
Viewing will be held at the Baue Funeral Home, 3950 W. Clay St. (NW corner of Cave Springs and North Outer Rd.), St. Charles, Missouri on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. officiated by Tom Pruden.
